Weird Brothers Coffee are a disabled-veteran owned and operated, community-based, and family-run, small batch coffee roaster. The Weird Brothers and Strange Sisters team is dedicated to coffee, tea, and other goodies that stand apart from everything else. We welcome everyone to visit the unique and fun vibe of our three local coffee bar locations. Our coffee is craft roasted with care and is brewed to deliver an experience that will help you fall in love with coffee all over again.
Weird Brothers Coffee is proud to be the first Coffee Roaster in Herndon, Virginia. We are committed to serving and supporting our community. We Take our coffee seriously but never take ourselves too seriously.
The Weird Brothers, Kenny & Paul Olsen and their family
Weird Brothers Coffee was founded by Paul & Kenny Olsen – two really weird brothers who have had a life-long love affair with fresh roasted, quality coffee. The weird brothers are also helped out by their odd but awesome dad, Daryl Olsen.
As an Army veteran, Paul experienced many customs and cultures across the country and around the world. But it was a trip to Ethiopia and the ancient city of Harar that captured Paul’s imagination and fed his desire to share the world’s best coffees with family and friends.
One of the constant things in the brother’s lives has not only been exceptional coffee, but also unique personalities. Paul and Kenny constantly sought out the special, extraordinary – and yes, the weird – in life. Kenny was always the extrovert and gregarious brother, where Paul is the more thoughtful, reserved, but creative brother.
Kenny also traveled extensively over the years working in many industries including coffee roasting and behind the counter as a barista. Sadly Kenny passed away soon after the Weird Brothers opened their coffee bar at the Roasting Factory. Paul and the family are keeping Kenny's spirit and legacy alive every day with every batch of fresh roasted beans and each carefully crafted drink. Kenny's drive to help people in need and make people smile will always be a part of what we do.
