Community Impact and Collaboration
Community is very important to us. We may be in the coffee business, but our real mission is in the people business. Bringing people together, building and fostering human connections is at the heart of what we do. You will find the Weird Brothers Coffee team out and involved in our local communities year round. We have collaborated with many different local organizations and other small businesses.
The Chris Atwood Foundation
The Chris Atwood Foundation is a peer-driven community organization in Northern Virginia providing free harm reduction and recovery support services and advocacy for people impacted by substance use. The foundation is a 501(c)3 charitable organization that creates recovery ready communities through free harm reduction and recovery support services, resources and education.
Their core mission is educating the community about the disease of addiction and creating recovery ready communities. The Chris Atwood Foundation has successfully been working towards these goals through their tireless work and groundbreaking community initiatives.
Weird Brother Coffee began working with the Chris Atwood Foundation when the owner, Paul's brother and Co-Founder Kenny succumbed to an overdosed in 2017. In 2022, Weird Brothers Coffee created the Recovery Blend in collaboration with the Chris Atwood Foundation. 20% of the proceeds from each bag of this coffee will go to the foundation.
