Weird Brothers Coffee is a disabled-veteran owned and operated, community-based, and family-run, small batch coffee roaster. The Weird Brothers and Strange Sisters team is dedicated to coffee, tea, and other goodies that that surpass the ordinary. Hospitality and building community connections is our mission. We strive to foster a fun loving vibe where every customer always feels welcome and seen.
Weird Brothers Coffee is proud to be the first Coffee Roaster in Herndon, Virginia. We continue to grow and hope to spread the Weird & Wonderful vibes well beyond Northern Virginia We will always take our coffee seriously but we will never take ourselves too seriously.
The Weird Brothers, Kenny & Paul Olsen and their family
Weird Brothers Coffee was founded by Paul & Kenny Olsen – two really weird brothers who have had a life-long love affair with fresh roasted, quality coffee. Coffee was always social event for Paul & Kenny, either in the kitchen with family or at their local coffeehouse. The weird brothers' odd but awesome dad, Daryl Olsen also played a role in helping them launch the business.
As an Army veteran, Paul experienced many customs and cultures across the country and around the world, but it was a trip to Ethiopia and the ancient city of Harar that captured Paul’s imagination and fed his desire to share the world’s best coffees with family and friends.
One of the constant things in the brother’s lives has not only been exceptional coffee, but also unique personalities. Paul and Kenny constantly sought out the special, extraordinary – and yes, the weird – in life. When planning the Weird Brothers Coffee concept, Paul & Kenny both made sure that it would be unique and driven by a vibrant, creative and fun loving culture. It would never by the typical stuffy and pretentious coffee place.
Sadly Kenny passed away soon after the Weird Brothers opened their first coffee bar at the Roasting Factory. Paul and the family are keeping Kenny's spirit and legacy alive every day with every batch of fresh roasted beans and each carefully crafted drink served with kindness and care.
Kenny's huge, generous heart and his drive to help people in need and make people smile will always be a at the core of our every move.
